We need to reach out to sponsors. This is mostly for me and @agminusthev but if anyone has contacts at any of these companies it would be great to note them. If you have a contact email but want us to reach out just comment with their info. If you know them well go ahead and reach out to tell them about the confernece, make sure to note the CoC and the sponsorship info.

Also, feel free to add more companies that you've seen sponsor other conferences.

I know Matt Robenolt at Sentry through IRC — happy to send him a note if it'd be useful. Also, I'm talking it over with the team, but Clef may be in for the Basic Sponsorship.

@jessepollak go ahead and reach out to sentry, that would be a big help, and great to hear about Clef :)

Here's some sampler boiler you can use when reaching out.

Heya,

We're doing a community driven JavaScript festival in Oakland from December 7th - 13th.
We have lots of great sponsorship opportunities which you can see here http://oakland.jsfest.com/sponsors.html

If you have any questions or concerns just let me know and we can put you in contact
with the the right event organizer to answer.

Are we even doing "media" partnerships? I'm kinda on the fence about it but people are asking. Not even sure how that would work.

@jessepollak

Uber passed, Sentry is still discussing.

@thefoxis I've tried a few of these "media partnerships" before. In my experience they haven't been worth the effort :(

@mikeal — yeah, the founder of JSFiddle who kinda comes off with an ego reached out to me and was kinda mad that I told him that we might not be interested, he's like "it's only gain for you!" haha.

Anyhow, Guillermo reached out to me that Automattic should sponsor, Mark Otto wants to get $2/$5k (him individually as Bootstrap, not Github, they didn't get back to me at all). Also Treehouse passed on money sponsorships but said they're happy to send swag/free memberships which is also rad.

++ Both MailChimp and Mark want to donate their tickets for diversity thing I've mentioned ❤️

@thefoxis awesome! one thing about "swag sending," we can only have swag from sponsors out at registration, it's one of the "perks" that comes with sponsorship.

That totally makes sense.

Mark just confirmed Gold sponsorship for CSSConf, sent you an email about it @mikeal

BTW, I just responded in email, but the high level sponsorships get sole sponsorship of an event, so MailChimp is the CSSConf sponsor, while other events are still available, and all sponsors are "JSFest" sponsors.

Did you close the MailChimp thing yet? I was unsure + thought the highest gets an evening event. Sorry!

Just sent the invoice. Highest does get an evening event, but if they want CSSConf they have it :)

Rdio is in for $2k! @mikeal, can you email [email protected] to finalize the details?
