As I could see, currently the app can save PDF and allegedly export images (although the export menu doesn't seem to offer all options. In my case, I can't see Signal as an option).
Unfortunately, OpenScan does not provide the possibility to save an image of the scanned document (with the cropping preserved). Even the exported PDF has a white background added to it...

I found this app when looking for an OSS alternative to MS Office Lens. This app seems to do the job with regards to '3d cropping', but when I want to further process the cropped images in another app, then I have to share it as images with some WhatsApp contact and then save it from there. Not ideal. Telegram is offered as an option, but I get a toast from Telegram that the type of attachment (what type? an image collection?) is not supported.
Best would be to have the option to save the images to the device. I did find these files Android/data/com.ethereal.openscan/OpenScan 2022-02-20 10:59:13.148371/2022-02-20 10:59:15.985817c.jpg but I cannot open them with Simple Gallery Pro nor copy them (probably a file permission issue, when hitting Edit with Simple Gallery Pro I get a java.lang.SecurityException).
