Compressing or limiting database size

Hi,

I'm trying to create multiple CAT databases for multiple purposes. The issue is that multiple databases (based off the nr database) take up a lot of disk space, which is becoming a problem. Is there a way of compressing or limiting the size of databases created by CAT?

In this issue you have added compression support for output alignment files, i.e. from CAT contigs. I'm not sure whether CAT prepare creates a diamond database is compressed as standard or the compression can be added and made compatible with CAT contigs?
