How to reproduce

  1. Change shell to /bin/zsh
  2. Run sudo inside terminal
  3. sudo complains that password can not be entered via stdin.

If I use bash and create zsh as subprocess, This doesn't reproduce and detects pseudo-console file properly. something seems off.
